Facial Exercise | The Natural Facelift That Will Take Years Off Your Face Just 10 Minutes A Day
By Nell Rose
I first discovered facial exercises back in the 90s. The skin on my face had started to droop as I was approaching forty, and I noticed that the lines around my mouth were becoming more prominent. I had used creams and moisturisers for years but all this seemed to do was make my skin soft, it had no effect on the skin that was beginning to droop.
Thanks to advertising I became aware of the electronic facial exercisers or toners, that were said to help sagging by sending electrical currents through your skin and jump starting if you like, the muscles underneath.
So I started to look into them. The one thing that I did discover was the fact that the skin on your face is actually attached to your face muscles. This may sound obvious, but in fact it is not the norm. Other muscles around your body actually ‘slide’ under the skin to make sure that your body works like clockwork. Whereas on your face, the muscles are connected by a network of veins, skin and capillaries that work together.
This is shown when you either smile, frown or pull a face. If the muscles were not attached to the skin, then you would notice the skin gliding over the muscles when you do this.
The electronic facial exerciser's are really good buys, purely because all you have to do is place them on or around the muscle that you wish to stimulate and they do it for you, by sending a small electrical pulse through the skin. But these are not for everybody. Some people don't like the idea of zapping their face with electricity! And others can't use them because of certain illnesses or medication that they take.
Also at this time I began to realise that actually, the more creams and lotions that you put on your face the saggier your skin becomes. If you think about it, what happens when you put a paper bag in water? It begins to get soggy and stretch.
And this is what happens if you put too much moisturiser on your face. Especially if it is one of the really thick creams that seem to stick to your skin and you have to wipe off. Its not so bad if you use lotions because they actually evaporate quite quickly, keeping your face firmer for longer.
Natural Facial Exercises were the best thing for me. After only one week of practising the exercises I noticed that the lines around my mouth had disappeared! It was fantastic! The skin looked younger, and underneath my eyes the skin was smoother and not beginning to go baggy as it had been.
I was converted! Now I do them every day.
Let's Get Started
Forehead
Before you start, make sure that you apply a small amount of moisturiser to your face. Also rub some into your finger tips too. This will stop you tearing or pulling the skin .
There are three exercises for your forehead.
Place your fingers on your eyelids to keep them in place and then raise your eyebrows. Do this 10 times. When you are used to the exercise you can just do it without using your fingers.
Stare straight ahead and pull your forehead tight, as though you are trying to bring it back over the top of your head. Hold the position for 10 seconds then do it again.
This one is a bit more difficult. Pull forehead back as above exercise. Then try and lift each eyebrow separately. Do each eyebrow 10 times.
Eyes
Close your eyes. Hold them down if necessary. Then raise your eyebrows as far as they can go. This will help the muscles to contract and get stronger.
For under the eyes, this exercise is really good. It helps alleviate bags, and makes the blood flow better so gets rid of that dark circle that most of us have sometimes. I have been using this for a long time, and it really works.
Face the mirror and pull up your under eye muscles as far as they will go. This may be quite hard to do at first as you will want to squint. But do not squint. Keep your eyes as wide as they can go. We don’t want any squinting as that will cause wrinkles around the eyes!
Eva Fraser Inventor of The Famous Facial Workout
Eva Fraser is 82 years old. When this photo was taken she was a sprightly young 80. So how does she do it? Well back in the 1970's when she was 50 years old, she met a ballet dancer by the name of Madame Hoffman who had the idea of exercising your facial muscles. And she looked fantastic. Eva learned her secret, and perfecting the exercises with her own special touch, she now goes on to teach others. With numerous books, CDs and Lectures, she still teaches 6 days a week. Amazing Lady. She is the walking proof that this does work wonders.
Cheeks
Smile as hard as you can, and at the same time put your fingers on top of the cheek bones. Push down as hard as you can at the same time as holding the grin.
Face the mirror and only using one side of your face, grin as wide as you can on that side. Pull up the cheek muscle as hard as you can and hold it for 10 seconds. Do this 10 times, then change over to the other side of your face and start again.
Jaw line
This is where you start to notice saggy skin. So this one is really important.
First of all imagine that you have tasted something bitter, like a lemon. What do you do? You pull your lower cheeks and jaw line back away from your mouth.
Keep your mouth slightly open, and pull the lower half of your face into a grimace or grin. Now try and ignore the cheek bones, only use the jaw line. Do this 10 times. This is great for pulling the muscle back and forward. You will feel it stretching like elastic. This will tighten skin that is beginning to sag.
Now try it one side at a time. This will take a bit of practise but is well worth doing. In fact the better you get at it, the more you will realise that it is working. The idea is to get the muscles on your face so tight because of the facial workout that you will be able to do them while sitting watching TV or even in your coffee break at work. By the time you have been practising for a few weeks you will find that you will be able to do the exercises really quickly and easily.
.
Lips
The muscles around your lips sag quite quickly as you get older, so you need to do this exercise regularly.
Open your mouth wide. Now, without closing it, make the letter O. Hold the position for 3 seconds and do it again. Do this 10 times until you feel comfortable with it, and then as many times as you like.
Place thumbs underneath your top lip. Pull out gently and at the same time pull back with your jaw muscles. In other words pull your chin down as though you are stretching your chin line. Do this 10 times.
Open mouth as wide as you can. Now, pull the muscles sideways on your top lip. Just imagine you have an itchy nose and can’t scratch it! That’s the one!
Lines Around Your Nose
Open mouth slightly. Now lift your top lip up to the side of your nose. Try it first with both sides, and then one at a time. You will find that you will be able to do one side easily, but the other will take a bit of extra push to get it there. I call this one the Elvis! No explanation needed!
Neck and Double Chin
I have put these two together as they are very similar and overlap the exercises.
For a smooth neck, close your mouth and look up at the ceiling. When you have stretched back as far as you can go, put your lower lip over the top lip. As you practise more and more, you can stretch it even more by doing the above, but at the same time as putting your lips over the top lip, smile as wide as you can.
And finally for that all important double chin, close your mouth and look at the ceiling again. Only this time make your mouth into an O shape. As your practise gets easier, change from O to E then back again. Alternate for as long as you like on the condition that it is comfortable. Only start with 10 to begin with.
After Care
When you have finished your daily face workout, give your face an oxygen boost by really stretching your mouth as far as it will go, then relax. Take a deep breath and hold for a few seconds.
And to give yourself a lovely glow, put a light liquid moisturiser on your hands, and briskly rub into your face. When you have finished, pinch your cheeks for a natural red rosy look. This also stimulates blood circulation.
Massage your body and face with these amazing techniques

Facts
Facial exercises are a really good way to keep those wrinkles at bay. Exercising your face each day for just 10 minutes at a time will make a vast difference to your appearance. As the weeks go by and your muscles become tighter, you will notice the harsh lines around your mouth, and the saggy skin underneath your eyes become clearer and smoother.
Exercising your face is probably one of the best face lifts that you can have. With plastic surgery the muscles in your face will start to go slack again almost immediately unless you exercise them.

Hi Nell,
One of my sisters used to make a lot of faces. My mother would ask her why she would want to skew her beautiful face up like that. I always thought that her making faces was why she was so pretty. This hub makes it look like I was right.
Great hub. Voted up, useful, funny, awesome, and interesting.
HI, Sunshine, I know! lol my face bounced back like a piece of elastic! do you think if I keep trying I will end up looking twenty? no, maybe not! lol thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi, Dardia, yes you were right! it really is good for your wrinkles, it makes sense really because we do exercise our body, so why not our face? wish they would invent some good old fashioned weights to attach to it! lol thanks again nell
I like the lip pucker one - just hope my jaw doesn't lock! I've been doing the chin exercises all summer. I like the eye and the cheek ones too. I'm usually bad about reading directions, but you made it easy, Nell Rose. Thanks:)
Now you wouldn't think, ahem, a He-man like myself would be caught dead reading an article like this. Did I say like? Well, that's exactly what the feeling is after finding out about all the facial exercises. If Eva Fraser can look that good at 80 and Ms. Nell's face look so flawless, then one would be foolish to let macho pride get in the way of a good thing. Triple tack Nell!
Fascinating hub! I've heard of the facial exerciser gadgets, but love the idea of "doing it myself." Hmmm... 40s, right? Guess I'd better get started! :)
What Price Beauty Nell...Very Interesting and Informative. So all the faces we made as children are finally paying off! Seriously, a lot of this makes sense and if it helps, why not try it. Thanks so much for sharing.
Thanks Nell, I like the idea of exercises you can do in your armchair!. Only trouble is, I may have left it a little late!
I'm a big fan of exercises for the face... one good one is "The Lion", a yoga move, that is like your chin and neck exercise. I even give my doggie massages. Another great hub, Sweetpea. Love yaz, lily
Geeze, I walk on the treadmill, ride my bike, do yoga, now i ' gotta exercise my face? Will it never end? Hee. I'm headed for the mirror! Great Hub Nell..Thank's for sharing...Cheers
I loved your hub Nell. It is so accurate.
My mom is a big fan of doing facial exercises esp for her double chin and this hub has gone an extra mile...thanks!
Nel - I love this hub! I will try to come back againandagainandagain - it made me laugh and felt so GOOD! so great of you to do such a good job with this - hope it will improve my face and I won't have to seek out a plastic surgeon at all!
Hi, kim, lol I know just what you mean! its the one when you grimace to do the jawline that gets me, I think I am going to get stuck! thanks so much for reading, cheers nell
Hi, Alastar, even a manly man can give this a try! lol but I am sure you don't need it yet, why is it when women get older they get 'old' and when men get older they get 'distinguished or more handsome?! Um have to figure that one out! ha ha thanks again, nell
Hi, steph, it really is good, I bought eva's book a few years ago, and sat there trying out all the exercises, to start with you don't realise how hard it is! lol all the muscles that we usually use are just a few, by doing this you practise with all of them, give it a week and you'll look ten years younger! well, maybe a little bit more than a week, but its great! thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi, b. Malin, yes evidently the muscles that we usually use are always the same, these include all the muscles, go on, give it a try! lol you will be amazed at how hard it is the first time, but after that the muscles loosen up, thanks again nell
Hi, Gypsy, its never to late! look at Eva, 82 and still going! lol thanks again as always, nell
Hi, lily, I bet your dog loves it! lol thanks as always, be over in a minute! lol
Hi, Ruby, wow! that's better exercise than me, I do a workout based on ballet, trouble is everytime I do the high kick I forget to look behind me! ha ha nearly got my son the other day! thanks again, nell
Hi, Ruchira, thanks! I am glad its helpful, good on your mum! lol cheers nell
Hi, mega, yes easy to do and no plastic surgery! lol thanks so much for reading it, cheers nell
Great and informative hub..I am going to start today, 55 and lotsa wrinkles to chase away!! Thanks for the clear instructions.
Jeez Nell, a fortune in a few words..
I'm going to cut off some years of my face. The thing is that I need a picture for the Jaw line. Or i have to really eat a lemon! i'll bookmark it and also sharit with my friends.
What I read here is really different from everything else I tried! Although some of the face devices do work
(got the face pulsator and infra red something something and the scrub/wash - a powerful little thing), taking them out of their draws, packages etc. is always the hassle.
That's why I think this really might work - as I can and will do some of those exercises while doing other things...Saving time and money - great!
Brilliant Nell, you always put a lot of hard work into your hubs and it sure does pay off.
I vote up up and away.
Take care
Eiddwen.
Hi, ShyeAnne, never to late to get rid of those wrinkles! it does work, I have pulled my face up! ha ha thanks for reading it, cheers nell
All great advice. I need to put them into practise now. Thank you for the share...wow, I love the concept! : )
Hi, cameciob, I searched everywhere for that picture of the jaw line, but to no avail, just swallow the lemon! ha ha thanks again nell
Hi, Evita, exactly, that's why I do it, I do have an electronic one but haven't used it for years! thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi, Eiddwen, thanks as always for reading, cheers nell
Hi, september girl, glad you liked it, good luck with practising, thanks nell
Thanks for a good comprehensive set of facial exercises! I have TMJ from grinding my teeth and need to work out the kinks.
I completely make my throat sore by doing exercises in the vain hope that I won't have 4 chins. I don't know if it is working or not but I am afraid to quit. What if it is the only thing keeping me this ugly? I might get worse!
Great hub, and just in the nick of time! Refreshing to read. Thanks abd awesome.
This is an interesting hub and a very useful reference source, Nell! I've bookmarked your hub so that I can refer to it again, and I'm going to try some of the exercises.
Hi, Xenonlit, You too? lol I grind my teeth so badly! hope this helps, thanks!
Hi, leann, ha ha you sound just like me! ugly? don't be silly! lol but I know what you mean about stretching until your neck is nearly over your nose! hee hee
Hi, eurocafeaulait, glad you found it helpful and thanks!
Hi, Alicia, good luck with the exercises, I am doing them sitting here writing! lol and thanks!
Haaa Cool Hub! That is one unique hub.

Hi, Keeley, keep them up and you will notice the first signs of a wrinkle free face within a week! great stuff, I have been doing it for a few years now, and it does work, thanks!
Hi, Kate, thanks for reading, cheers nell
very interesting hub. I have done exercises with my face before. In the privacy of the bathroom. I used to do them, when I was stressed out and visiting people that made things uncomfortable for me when I was there. I would go into the bathroom, do the exercises and releave my stress. Good hub.
Thanks, I am trying it.
Hi, left a comment I am sure, I don't know what is happening. Anyway, just mentioned Betty White gave face exercises back in Golden Girl times and if you know her you know they worked for her. I use the yawning one most and will try some of yours. Thanks!
Polly
Hi, jfay, that's a great idea! I am glad you have given it a go, I will have to try that, thanks!
Hi, SJK, great, let me know how you get on! good luck! and thanks, nell
Hi, Polly, Yes I used to watch it! Wow, I never knew she used them, I am going to keep them up then! lol thanks again nell
Thank you for the great article. I've been looking for something natural to stave off the wrinkle monster now and in the future. You make me believe this is a true option.
Hi, lisa, thanks for reading, it does help the wrinkles, and its so much cheaper! I do them most days, in fact I have got so much into the habit that I forget I am doing them! people must think I am mad, I do try not to do it outside though! lol
Great exercises. I've always heard that people who smile more than frown have younger faces, it's true!
Ok, I've got some new daily moves for my exercise routine! Great hub, Nell, and thanks so much for sharing.
I never thought this could be possible. So this hub gets printed and my exercises will start tomorrow. Now how long will it take me to look 30 again?
Brilliant hub, Nell. Voted up to the top.
Hi, doodlebugs, thats so true! its the grinning exercise that helps the most! lol thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi, beth, at least with these exercises we can sit down! lol thanks!

Hi
Alastar, not to worry abt man reading this article..I too stumbled on this great info..no harm in trying. I definitely will try
This is great. I'm not one of those people who likes the idea of surgery to fix my aging body--so this is perfect! I've just gotten to my mid-30s and it's time to start thinking about preventing this stuff. Awesome hub, and enjoyed the images lol. Thanks! :)
Hi, greatstuff, lol of course men can do it, if it helps the old wrinkles stay at bay, whose to say otherwise? ha ha thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi, Faceless, thanks for reading, mid 30s? oh how I wish I was! lol good to start early though, thanks!
As the old saying goes...better late than never! What a great article! Never thought about doing exercises for the face but it makes sense. Was making some funny faces while reading this and I actually like the way my face muscles feel after the funny face routine. Will have to come back and study this some more. Glad no one is watching! Haha! Voted up and useful.
Hi, Peggy, I know what you mean about someone watching! lol my family look at me in a strange way when I do it, but I just stare back and say, 'what? I am doing my exercise'! lol thanks for reading, cheers nell
Fortunately when I am sitting at the computer desk no one but Skippy the dog who sleeps under a chair or Peaches and Dusty (the cats) who alternately spend time on the desk with me will see it. And they will never tell others about the strange facial gestures...at least I hope not. Ha!
Hi, Peggy, lol! I can just imagine them thinking to themselves, what on earth is she doing? ha ha
That sounds a great idea. Thank you for such a well written hub.
Hi, Hello hello, thanks for reading, cheers nell
Helpful hub, Need to start doing these facial exercises, especially for my sagging jaw, Now Nell can you help me out with my saggy bottom :)
Hi, Gypsy, lol! well, the first thing you have to do is sit on the floor! then 'walk' along the floor keeping your muscles in your bum tight! it really works!
Hi Nell, Now you know I have bookmarked and voted awesome! I have heard of facial exercises, and will putting the double chin exercise on my schedule along with the others. I started noticing my extra chin, and glad to have found your hub.
I hate all the lotions and potions the beauty industry pushes at us, so this was really good to read. In my mid 40s so I need to take note! Thank you!
Hi, adrienne, glad you found it helpful, and thank you so much for the vote! I do the exercises every day, and hopefully it works for me! lol
Hi, Beth, don't forget to put a bit of mosturiser on before doing it, don't want to stretch that skin, lol thanks for reading, cheers nell

Hi, emsherman, glad you liked it, I have been doing them for a while now, I look in the mirror to see if there are any more wrinkles then sit there doing the exercises! lol
Hi Nell,Probably too late for me but there's no harm in trying I always say.
The pictures help a lot.
Thanks for sharing.
Hi, baygirl, lol! no its never to late, and thank you for reading, cheers nell
I had a mini facelift about 6 years ago - can I still do the exercises?
Hi, Sharon, are your facial muscles working okay? if you can smile and raise your eyebrows up and down etc, then yes its fine to do the exercises. The muscles are joined to your skin, so the more you do, the tighter they will be, bringing up the skin of your face with it, good luck! and thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi Neil,
Facial Exercise is really good thing we can do ..very interesting
Hi, htodd, thanks! I do them everyday, they do work! Happy Christmas!
Some of these faces are really funny to make, I've never heard of electronic face exercisers but I just stretch my eyes and cheeks a lot. Also, smiling more is good for both your physical and mental health.
Hi, mandy, thanks for reading, I totally agree, smiling is good for you! have a great New Year!
Nell, I had always wondered about exercising the face muscles, I train alot with weights so this was interesting. Could you please explain this eye exercise more thoroughly, I did not fully grasp the method. It is this one: "Face the mirror and pull up your under eye muscles as far as they will go. This may be quite hard to do at first …”
I would appreciate it. And Thanks for a good hub
Hi, omarjakelfit, I call it the half squint! what you do is squint your eyes up as though looking at the sun, then relax the top part of your eyes, and if you can, try and pull them up, but make sure that you keep the bottom lid of your eyes pulled up, is that okay? thanks!
I will try this Nell Rose.
Thank you for the great (and accurate) information about facial exercises for a younger face. The facial muscles under our skin really DO make all the difference in how young or old we look. Excellent information and another great Hub! Keep them coming!
Hi, mathira, thank you for reading, I am glad you liked it, cheers nell
Hi, Laser, thanks so much! yes, your facial muscles are joined to the skin of your face, therefore it does work if you exercise them, cheers nell

Glad I found this today!
Respect!
Thanks so much Marcy, I do the exercises every night before bed, usually in the dark! lol! at least that way no one will wonder why I am pulling such a strange face! thanks for the vote!
Nell, First I would like to say that it's a shame no one reads your hubs or leaves comments!....(I thought I would never reach the end!!)
Now, I'm going to say something that will "sound" like bragging....but that is simply NOT how I roll. I'm pretty much the opposite and can barely accept compliments gracefully....But, what I'm about to say is really a testament of gratitude to my parents and genetic make-up.
I'm also not into publicly announcing my age (ouch!) but I will be 64 in April. I normaly am guessed to be about 45.....I can handle that! Somehow, the combination of my parents genes was a good one in this particular department.
My only sibling was 60 when she passed away (9 yrs ago) and because she was also thin and small-boned, was mistaken for a college student, right up until her terminal illness.
My Dad had beautiful facial bone structure and skin like a baby....My Mom was 82 when she passed and had very few tiny lines that couldn't even be called actual wrinkles.
Pure luck. I know this. I have a lot of grey hair (I don't color it) arthritis and 20 excess pounds of ugly fat.....but not a single wrinkle. So, I don't dare complain. I will do the exercizes anyway....just in case of a freak event and I wake up one morning looking like the Wicked Witch of the east!! LOL
Hi, Sunshine, glad to see its not just me that pulls faces! haha! it does work though, my skin is much tighter and smoother around the mouth, thanks as always, nell
Hi, Susan, yes thats the advantage, we don't have to use weights or even stand up! lol! thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi, Rastamermaid, glad you found it useful, good luck! lol! and thanks!
Hi, fpher, 64 really? wow! your photo does make you look in your forties! I am sorry to hear about sister, I do know what you mean about genetics though, my mum didn't have any wrinkles, and there was an old tale in my house that said my great grandmother was 93 when she died and never had a wrinkle, when I asked why, they said she ate a raw onion every day of her life! uck! haha! thanks as always, nell
well now...isn't that interesting?? I'm thinking here, Nell.....your great grandmother was pretty damned clever. I mean, a raw onion a day would certainly keep the MEN away. No men=No stress= No wrinkles!! Go Granny!!!
Hi, fpher, haha! never thought of that! brilliant! maybe I can make an onion that will bring me a stress free man though, what do you think? lol!
Nell, thumbs up and chin up! Excellent informative and giving piece. I learned about some of these exercises 30 years ago. They work. The only thing I put on my face is steam and shea butter. I didn't know about the neck exercises. Bookmarking this hub definitely. Thanks so much.
Very informative! I have to try these exercises. Voted up and shared with friends.
Nell, my dear friend.....If onions could free my man from stress, I'd peel him one three times a day...which would certainly decrease MY stress, now wouldn't it?
We may have something here worthy of a patent!!
Okay, Nell....I'm going to try your exercises and expect to look about 58 (rather than 68) soon! Ha! If they help any at all, that will be better than nothing.
Great hub, explained and illustrated wonderfully!
Also, a comment for fpher, who can't POSSIBLY be 64! Your photo looks like you're in your 30s,girl! That does make me feel old!
No, no no....not my 30's!! I explained the reason, Jaye....so that no one would see it as some great accomplishment of mine!! lol....My sis and I just happen to be fortunate to be the offspring of people whose DNA blended well together in this category. We all have at least ONE good feature....right?? I mean, c'mon....the rest of me is a train wreck!! lmao. That snap shot is actually my licence photo....and it IS 3 years old, if that helps any! OH! and I won't be 64 until April!! Please don't rob me of 90+ days left!! LOL.
Thanks ytsenoh, I just use nivea, its the cheapest of face creams and definitely the best for me, I will try the steam more often though, thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi, urmilashukla, thanks for reading, and I am glad you liked it, thanks for the vote too!
Hi, fpher, sorry it took me so long to answer, I have been scrubbing the house out for visitors! lol! never again she says! I think we should patent it, or maybe just the male stress one! haha! thanks again, nell
Hi, Jaye, thanks for reading it, good luck with the exercises, best to let your family know you are going to do them! otherwise they will think you are just pulling faces at them! haha!
I always knew making faces was good for me. Excellent hub, Nell.
Very good hub! vote up
Hi, Keith, lol! you can pull a face all the time now and say that you are doing exercises! thanks for reading, cheers nell
Sonia, why are you just putting phone numbers on my hubs? never heard of a text message?!!
Thanks for reading, DearBandit!
Loved this hub! I've heard of this and tried it but found it hard to keep it up! Fighting gravity is hard work! Voted up and interesting!
Hi, kelleyward, I know what you mean! lol! gravity can be a problem! I try and do the exercises when I go to bed, I read a book and pull faces! haha! thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi Nell! Thank you for sharing your tips with us. I am going to try these facial exercises. I'd rather do these than plastic surgery any day. This is so informative and practical. Thank you!
Hi, suzette, they really do work, I have been doing them for a while now and notice the little lines around my nose have gone, saying that I must lose weight or they are going to start appearing again! lol! thanks as always, nell
Hi Nell Rose! I must share this with my sister!!! Great hub, voted up!!!
Hi,iamaudraleigh, thanks, and I hope your sister likes it too, cheers nell
This is awesome! Voted up and liked on facebook.
Thanks so much Anamika, glad you liked it, nell
I agree with facial exercises they work and last, besides I'm too scared of needles and stuff. I used Charlotte Hamilton's Fitface, have for years, they are hands free and as the muscles are underneath I don't think one should touch the skin.
What do you think?
Hi, Flo, I never use my touch I just pull up my muscles, mostly at night I exercise them, and yes it does work, thanks for reading, cheers nell
Nell,
I've read this hub again and I must say that your photo shows that you do in fact do these exercises. I did them as I read along and I feel the muscles in my face now. I'm coming back everyday until I remember all of them this time. Great information. It beats anything I've read so far.
Thanks so much,
Lisa
Hi, Lisa, thank you! I am so glad you found it helpful, I do still do them, especially when I am reading in bed! lol! its one of my night time routines, its lovely when I realise that my hub has helped like this, good luck and thanks!
I never would have thought that doing facial excercises would actually help someone look younger! It's so much cheaper than buying a lot of cosmetic products. I voted this up and interesting.
Hi, Ebower, thanks so much! yes it does work, I have used it for a few years now, and when I notice my skin beginning to get saggy again, I do it again, I usually do it at night, reading a book and pulling faces! lol!
Ooh, my mom does these! I do them, too. I look a little silly, but they work.:)
Hi, caramellatte, I look silly too! haha! thanks for reading, cheers nell
Great hub! I am convinced this is what William Shatner has been doing. Have you seen how great he looks? This is helpful to those of us who can't afford the plastic surgeon. :) I will try this.. the crows feet are starting to show. Excellent!
Great hub Nell... come along guys lets give it a try... That is if its OK Nell.... you just never know what it can do for us...
Hugs from Canada
Nell, MY ballet teacher taught our class facial exercises when I was 10-years old! She also used Crisco on her face and body and looked amazing. Her name was LaNada. I remember her "pussy cat" exercise where you purse your lips and have been doing it my entire life. Although I attribute using Mary Kay sun screen, etc. to my youthful skin, I also believe in facial exercises and loved this hub. You are such a terrific Hubber Nell!
Hi, Tammy, Wow! I have something in common with Captain James Tiberius Kirk! lol! seriously it does work, if my face feels a bit drab again, I scrub with salt, rub loads of oil or cream on and then sit for half an hour doing my face exercises! thanks as always, nell
Hi, Rolly, lol! I would love to see you do the face exercises, maybe video it? haha! thanks as always, nell
Hi, Lilleyth, Aw! thanks so much! lol! LaNada sounds like a lady who knew how to keep her beauty, I don't think it managed to keep mine, but it certainly helps! lol!
Can you add a video? I am not sure I understand or have ever heard of lotion causing problems for skin. Worth looking in a little more. Good directions.
videochat, the idea of writing a hub and commenting is to write your own. You do not just copy and paste someones comment with THEIR signature on it and expect someone to answer you! I left it here for a few minutes to check you out, then your gone!
Hi bridalletter, I will try to find one, and thanks for reading, cheers nell
Hi bridalletter, just came back to give you this link. There are no videos that explain all of it, but if you follow this link it will take you to the list of different facial exercises, okay?
Excellent hub Nell. I love the way you write. Your hubs are always so interesting.
I shall be doing some of those exercises, got to keep a young fresh look!!
Hi editorsupremo, thanks so much, lol! I know just what you mean, I sit here every night doing my facial exercises! thanks for reading, cheers nell
Awesome interesting hub :)Love your writing :) God bless!
Hi rdsparrowriter, thanks so much, and I am glad you liked it, cheers nell
Nell, I am always looking for ways to fight aging in my face. I have tried many of these facial exercises, and I think they help. You are right about moisturizer only making our skin soft, not firming it up. It seems there is so much false advertisement with the creams. I think I need to get one of the electronic brushes. Thanks for the info and the extra link (found in comments)! Votes and shared! :-)
Loved, loved this! And sharing!
Nell, if I did that lip exercise at our house I would never be able to live it down. Bev would die laughing and we don't want that now do we?
Great hub! I enjoyed doing these exercises BY MYSELF in the privacy of my writing studio.
A great hub! I like to add the necessity to have a balanced and a healthy diet along with drinking enough water to facilitate the effectiveness of such exercises. Together, these practices can keep a person younger looking for a longer time than any of these practices taken alone.
Sharing on FB! :) Awesome! I've been looking for something like this.
wow,i love your face exercise.
Hi sholland, thanks for reading, and I am so glad you found it helpful, cheers nell
Thanks so much Audrey, and sorry it took so long to answer, we are having a heat wave so I am making the most of these couple of days! lol! thats all we get over here!
Hi billy, lol! I can just imagine the look on your Bevs face! keep it in private in your studio! thanks as always, nell
Hi pandula, thats exactly right and thanks! we should all exercise eat healthy and drink water, thanks so much for reading, cheers nell

Hi Nell Rose! This hub is very accurate and very TRUE! I've been doing facial exercises for years and I look at least 10 years younger! Haha ok maybe 2 or 3 years younger! We never realize how tight our facial muscles get until we do these exercises! Fantastic hub!!
