Poltergeists and Automatic Writing.
Matthew Manning was born On August the 17th, 1955, in Shelford Cambridge England. His early life was remarkably normal, until he reached the age of eleven when something odd began to happen around him. The first strange event that happened occurred when small objects started to move from one place to another in the house.
At first the family thought it was someone having a joke, and didn't take a lot of notice. But over the following weeks, the strange occurrences became more frequent. Knocking was heard all over the house, and when the family investigated it, they could not find the source of the noise. The incidents stopped for a while, but after about a year, they came back with a vengeance. Chairs and tables moved without anybody being near them, childish scribbling started to appear on the walls, and even stranger, on the ceiling where no one could reach them.
Matthews father believed in Poltergeists and at one stage went down to the police station and reported it!. What he thought He could do, I have no idea! But luckily there was a policeman who believed him and got him in touch with a Professor George Owen who was a genetic specialist. He was also interested in the Paranormal, and gave Matthew advice on how to deal with it.
See below. Eventually Matthew went off to boarding school and this is when the main trouble started. He hadn't been there long when the poltergeist activity started again. Beds were moved, chairs flew about the room, and knives, nails and electric light bulbs were sent flying through the air. The strangest thing was the puddles of water that would manifest themselves on the floor, when nobody had been in the room, and if that wasn't bad enough, showers of pebbles fell down from out of the ceiling, as if they had just materialised out of the air. Matthew was as confused as everybody else. Eventually he was asked to leave the school by the headmaster, as he was disrupting the class. The pupils and the teachers were aware that he did not actually cause these things to happen himself, because there were plenty of witnesses, but they did not know how to handle it. Just as Matthew was about to leave, the Headmaster called him back and said he could stay. The headmaster was afraid that, if Matthew went home, the newspapers would get hold of the story, and his school would be under scrutiny and nobody wanted that to happen. So everybody thought it was best if he stayed where they could see him, and try and keep the trouble to a minimum. One day Matthew was writing an essay and suddenly he felt his hand moving on its own. After a while of scribbling something on the paper, he realised that he was doing automatic writing. And more importantly, the poltergeist phenomena had slowed down. He thought that maybe this was a way of channeling his energy.
This was the beginning of his life's journey.
From Psychic Art to Foreign languages
Apart from automatic writing, which not only came to him in English, but also in different languages, from Italian, German, Greek and Latin, also Russian and Arabic, he also produced psychic art, that was very similar to Henri Matisse, Picasso, and Thomas Bewick. These were just a few artists that Matthew uncannily appeared to be able to draw like, with startling similarities.
The Link to Psychic Healing
In 1974 he began his fame by writing the book The Link, this was printed in 16 languages and opened the door to world wide fame. In the same year he participated in a major series of tests in The New Horizons Research Foundation in Toronto Canada, where he was tested by some of the worlds most leading scientists. This included Britain's Nobel prize winning physicist Professor Brian Josephson. He was also studied by a Dr. Joel Whitton a psychiatrist who noted that Matthew had a brain wave pattern never noted before in any other person, further tests showed that it was coming from a part of the brain that we all possess but which had until that time, been dormant. It was central and the most primitive part of the brain. In fact it was the oldest part of the brain, never used before, or at least not for thousands of years. The scientists believe this is where the paranormal activity was coming from.
Strange Phenomena
After appearing on British TV, where he scared the TV presenter David Frost, after doing a live presentation of his abilities and leaving David a quivering wreck, he then came to the attention of the British Security services, where he was 'interviewed' very thoroughly!
As if that wasn't enough to prove his worth, he then set off on a world tour where he continued to amaze, frighten and disrupt in some cases, his book tour and demonstrations of his abilitys.
From blacking out department stores just by walking through them, to producing poltergeist activity everywhere he went, he was also approached by two Catholic Archbishops. i could add so much more here, but it would take up too much room, suffice to say, he was proved very genuine!
The Most Remarkable of All.
In Texas, he was examined by a Dr. John Kmetz, who was a top scientist. And this is when he showed something quite remarkable. He could influence Cancer cells. Not only could he influence them, he could kill them.
He just reached new heights in his ability. Evidently he managed to kill over 60 percent of the cells. Nobody else could do it.
In 1977, he turned his back on all the hype and decided to take a break. He headed out to the Himalayan mountains. Here he had a powerful experience, to this day he does not know if it was God, or his inner mind that gave him a message.
When he came back he vowed to use his powers for the good of mankind. And hopefully have an effect on people and their health. He gave himself up to extensive testing for five years in California and London Universitys. These test produced the largest number of scientific reports on healing that had ever been produced.

Undeniable Proof
For five years, Matthew underwent extensive testing in California and London Universities. These tests produced the largest number of scientific proof on healing ever documented. My Review.
There are many healers in the world. Apart from Doctors or surgeons, some are psychic healers. Some use Chrystal's, some use remote healing or suggestion. The one thing they usually have in common, is that they either believe that they receive their powers from God, or mostly from a ghostly form who is working through them. They usually show confidence in their own abilities, even arrogance. They try and convince you of their powers, whether they are real or fake.
Matthew is different. He doesn't try to make out that the power comes from anywhere else, apart from himself. Instead of arrogance, he shows uncertainty about his own ability. Even after five years of extensive tests, he admits that he isn't anything special. He owns up when he makes mistakes. And most importantly he is down to earth, quiet, and unlike most healers, refuses to take the credit completely for his healing. He says that if he is healing the person, and the patients body is also doing it as well, either through suggestion or self hypnosis, then that is the main achievement of the healing. Whether you believe in esp, parapsychology, poltergeists or automatic drawing, after reading and watching these videos, I don't think anyone will doubt his sincerity. I know that the videos are about ten minutes each. But they are well worth watching. One more thing, I tried to find loads of information about him, but I was surprised that there was only a few videos about him. This I think, says it all. He is not a publicity seeking man. He is just a Healer who wishes to help people.

It seems his whole life he was always having to prove who he was. I think that is sad. The powers I have I know did come from the lord and I also chose not to use them for any one who doesn't believe. That simple. I live a normal life most of the time And I plan on keeping it that way.I don't understand why someone would want a bunch of experiments being done on them all the time.

These things amaze me and put me in fear, I know they do exist through good and evil and I know there are scriptures saying "Did I not heal and cast out demons in Your name?" and the Lord says depart from me, I never knew you. This is judgment day I am supposing and certainly want to be known! Scientist in me wants to scoff but considering all I have been through I can not deny that there are things in this world we can not explain even though we want to debunk it to settle our fears I think. It seems all through the ages that most people with extraordinary gifts have been persecuted and not believed. It seems people's strongest personality trait is distrust and being able to believe in someone's talents. I always think that certain people were just born with talents or gifts and that we should do what we were meant to do - just gape in awe and take it for what it is worth...a miracle!

Here I am, as promised. I couldn't wait till weekend as the subject (kind of) allured me. I guess, by now, you must've already known that I love reading and writing on paranormal phenomena. I hadn't heard about Mathew until I read this hub. I believe that the real healers are those who don't drum beat about their abilities and thats exactly who Mathew Manning is...the real healer. People who get a chance to align themselves with the higher energy while they are alive are the fortunate ones, but even more fortunate are those who are blessed with an opportunity to help others align with the spiritual energy. I very much believe in the power of the mind and from what I heard we only use about 12-15% of it. Probably by using more of our minds we may cure oueselves and others.

That is really exciting Nell, just shows how down to earth he really is. My Sister attended a healing convention by him some years back and said he was amazing. Having had a stroke at the age of 28, she feels certain she would benefit from treatments by him having seen what she has seen. Apparently he was originally described as 'The British Uri Gellar', but personally I reckon he is far more impressive than that.

Hi Nell, well my Sister is now 46, and although far better than she was at the time, she is still left with some residual effects from the stroke, e.g. short term memory problems, a slight limp, co-ordination problems with her hand etc. It is for this reason she feels sessions with Matthew could help. As things are she cannot work, drive etc and this is unlikely to change unless she has a virtually 'miracle' cure to her problems. I really wish she could see him, but getting appointments and financing them would be difficult moreso because we do not live on the mainland UK, but in the Channel Islands.

There are many people in the world who have the ability to heal others. Unfortunately for most, they would have no way of knowing for sure. I wish that more Psychic healers would become doctors and nurses instead of people who do it for ego reasons.

Fascinating! I doubt that he has activity in his brain that's unique to him though. I think we all have it to varying degrees, but most of us haven't been scientifically tested.

I saw Matthew Manning a year and a half ago, he made me ''fit free'' and i am so grateful to him for that. But now i really need his help because my mother in law has been told that she has got cancer. It's been said that the mind or soul is pure energy.In fact there have been experiments where the weight of a persons body had decreased by a miniscule amount of less than a fraction of an ounce at the moment of death.Also it's been said that the reason we seen a halo around the head of saints in pictures is because under certain conditions some people can see just such halos in a vary dark room.
This subject reminds me of a book I found at a used bookstore by an author by the name of Elizabeth Cartwright.The title of the book was "Clarivoyance magnetically decerned"
She had come into certain abilities such as automatic writing and knowledge of healing although she was not formally trained as a doctor.She treated many peoples ailments including herself,her neighbors and eventually many other people she knew and didn't personally know,but who had written to her for help.She herself was sticken with an ailment that kept her from being able to walk up stairs or any lifting of her feet.She could only shuffle about.So her husband built her a house with one floor and no steps needed to enter or leave the house.She was healed one day upon a request that she enter a particular room in her house through automatic writing and her body would recieve healing through advice given through that writing.That's where her journey started.Apparently she was in contact with some supernatural force through automatic writing through which they had made some knd of an agreement with her to heal others if they healed her.Which they did.In one case in the book she found that just being in the presence of someone in need of healing was all that was needed to cause the healing to happen,through knowledge that was either given to her through them or from experiance with the same and intuitive abilities she had or was given.This book was written in the early twenith century although the events happened in the latter half of the ninteenth century during the civil war era.
