Prams And Pushchairs

After the initial euphoria of finding out that you are pregnant, your mind turns to more practical things such as expense! What with the baby cribs, nappies, baby grows and so on, you suddenly realise that you have to buy one of the most important things of all. The pram. Or pushchair, all depending on how you want to be seen, and more practically, will it fit in the car? What if it doesn't fold? For the first few months of pregnancy you can sit back and enjoy all the fuss, and try and get over morning sickness! But by the 7th or 8th month you begin to run around like a mother hen panicking because you haven't picked up your pram or baby stroller yet. What do you do? I remember it well, rushing around the shops with my mother, deciding on this one, deciding on that, until exhaustion sets in and you don't care whether you have to carry the baby or not, you don't care any more! These days mothers are really lucky because they can go online to buy their prams and pushchairs.

Four wheels or Three?

The one thing that fascinates me these days are the fact that you can now buy baby strollers with three wheels! bare with me, I come from the dark ages! The pram that my mum bought for me was a huge thing, I couldn't see over the top! It looked fantastic but believe me when I say I couldn't get over the side of the curb to cross the road, I couldn't get back up, and I must have nearly tipped my son out so many times it was unbelievable! Eventually I bought a tiny little fold up stroller, and from the age of four months, my son looked out at the world from the comfort of a deck chair on wheels! It folded up, it went around corners, and more importantly I could actually get up and down pavements.

So what do you prefer, four wheels or three? I certainly like the look of the three wheel pushchair, it goes around corners so much easier, and you can manouver it better in smaller spaces.

The Three Wheel Stroller.

This stroller comes with great accessories. Plug ins for your iPod and trays to hold cups and snacks for the little one and you! It is also very versatile and can be used in every terrain and situation. a great little pushchair.

The iBaby sound system connects to your iPods and MP3 player, and the Parent tray includes cup holders. Cool!

There is a drive entertainment toy which includes a horn, car sounds and music too! And it attaches to the swivel child tray, which includes a cup and snack holder. That's far more than I used to have on mine! All this and a swivel front wheel that is great on all terrains.

Graco Quattro Tour Stroller

This is a great two in one Pushchair and carry seat. It has duo seats for your baby and a toddler too! It can be taken apart to carry your baby and can be used as a car seat for both your children. Snugride is an infant car seat and can be easily clicked and locked to fit into the back seat of your car. Great stuff! It also has two cup and snack holders, and comes complete with the toddler's own storage cubby unter the seat to stash his or her toys! Not only that, the seats recline, so that your baby can have a lovely snooze! While the toddler can play with her toys on the tray in front! Easy to carry too!

Maclaren

Maclaren have always been one of the leading names in Prams and Pushchairs. They have been around for many years. This is their latest stroller, and as you can see, you won't be disappointed. It comes with lockable treaded 5" dual swivel wheels, adjustable 5 point safety and harness, and of course that 4 position reclining seat so that baby can sleep off his or her hard day at the park! The great thing about it is that it also has an extendable leg rest for added comfort and support. The brakes are foot operated, and you can remove the seat to wash off all those little spills. Lovely.

Folding Kolcraft Tour Sport.

Lightweight Kolcraft Stroller

There are times when we need to have a lightweight stroller for easy access, or traveling. Most strollers can be heavy and cumbersome so we all need something we can carry easily. But of course cushion and protect your toddler too. This is where the Kolcraft stroller comes into it's own. It has shock absorbing swivel wheels, an adjustable canopy to block out the sun, a parent cup holder so mum can have that well earned coffee! and a bag storage and reclining seat for your child. This is a great little stroller, and it's so light too!  It's carrying weight is approx only 11.5 pounds. That is fantastic. It reminds me of the one that I use to use when my son was born. I had to use public transport back then and believe me when I say, it was so easy to fold, carry and reasemble. Well worth the buy!

Beautiful Blue

Quick Smart Easy Stroller

This is lovely. Can you imagine pushing your baby or toddler around in this? What a wonderful colour! And once again it is very light. At approx 11.5 pounds you can carry your child in one arm and the stroller in the other! Lovely to take on vacation, you would be able to take it easily on a plane or even if you are traveling by train. Fold it to slide under your seat and quickly flick it open to place your child in it when you arrive. It has an easy fold and unfold sequence, four wheel design and a 5pt harness with a retractable canopy. And what a fantastic colour! You will never get the baby blues pushing your child around in this fantastic stroller! Definitely my favourite.

So Many To Choose From.

There are so many pushchairs and strollers to choose from. Which one will fit your lifestyle? Sometimes it is necessary to buy a larger pushchair, especially when your child is still a small baby. He or she will need much more protection from the elements. But of course, as your child grows they will be able to interact with the world around them much more, and so it is then that the small lightweight strollers come into their own. Whatever your style or choice, I am sure you will find one that you love, and more importantly, your baby loves too.

Great review of great pushchairs and baby strollers. Mine was one of the most priceless tools for caring for baby and providing both baby, toddler and parents with a safe and comfortable environment when out and about. I love these and can imagine all the great moments baby will have exploring the world in such wonderful pushchairs and strollers. :) Katie

A great hub which covers all there is a need to know!!

I have seen so many different styles etc having ten grandchildren.

I know most go into their car seats which in turn clips on to the under carriage as well but personally I still prefer a new born baby to be in a traditional, lie down pram.

This is going to be so useful to many Nell.

Well done on another great hub.

Useful plus up here I think.

Take care

Its been years since I've pushed a stroller (thank goodness), but I can tell you that if you are considering a double stroller (my twins are now 8), I think the back to back seat versions are easier to push than the side-by-side seats. Not to mention, easier to get through doorways!

Great hub Nell - very useful!

Like others have said -- things have changed so much over the years . . . My youngest and eldest are 10 years apart, and even then the advancements were amazing.

Nothing like a newborn to make us realize we are blessed with miracles.

Hi, Sally, thanks for reading it, I wish I had had the choice of these when my son was small! it was a lot harder back then! lol cheers nell

Hi, Ruby, I love blue, and it is a lovely little stroller, of course if I had a girl then it would have to be pink! lol thanks again nell

Hi, thanks for reading, Bijosh, cheers nell

Hi, Hello hello, no way! ha ha I am a bit too old now, shame though, I wish I could, never mind, thanks again as alway nell

Hi, CMHypno, I know, I thought the pushchair was about the baby, not the mother! ha ha talk about having it easy these days, but then again if I was pushing a baby, I don't think I would want to listen to music, I would be more concerned about the baby crying, wouldn't you? thanks again nell
